Following a strategic hiring process, Ritchie Garcia has been selected to serve as the next principal at Des Moines Elementary School.
Mr. Garcia currently serves as the interim principal at West Seattle Elementary, where he has also served as an assistant principal, instructional coach and teacher.
He has also taught at a dual language school in New York City, worked as a teacher in China and served in the Peace Corps in Uganda.
Mr. Garcia holds an educational leadership certificate form Western Governors University, a master’s degree in bilingual education from Columbia University and a bachelor’s degree in accounting from St. John’s University.
Now that the principal has been identified, we will work to identify the assistant principal.
